Purpose of the role
As a Lean Practitioner you will be responsible:
for managing the Kaizen process;
including organising, running and sustaining Kaizen events and Kaizen funnel;
for the leverage of the Business Systems tool to drive quality, delivery and cost results;
further development of the company culture;
for supporting the implementation of the site strategy through KPI bowler, action plan and PSP activities.
A fundamental growth area for continuous improvement will be the development of company talent and engagement.
This role will involve some travel within in the UK and abroad.
For the position of Lean Practitioner you require the following competencies:
- Willingness to work on the shop floor and lead by example;
- ability to influence;
- effective decision making with or without authority;
- ability to facilitate groups with diverse perspectives;
- effective facilitation to bring teams to agreement;
- high tolerance for ambiguity.
Excellent communication skills with the ability to interact at all levels of the business (senior leaders to working teams);
able to present complex or new ideas with clarity and simplicity;
exceptionally good listening skills,
Exceptional team and collaborative ability to effectively collaborate with others in the spirit of common objectives.
Planning and Execution:
Excellent project management and prioritisation skills;
solid business acumen.;
ability to deliver results despite shifting environment.
Analytical Problem Solving:
Able to identify problems;
ability to apply structured and disciplined methodology to identify root cause using data;
demonstrate innovative and effective solution development, risk mitigation and execution;
demonstrate hands-on experience with PSP process.
Qualifications / Experience required:
Degree in engineering or business.
Professional engineering certification and/or master’s degree preferred.
Experience in process improvements using lean manufacturing methodology/lean manufacturing with a combination of project management and business process analysis.
Experience within automotive desired.
